Dane County StrongBodies Program
StrongBodies™ (also formerly known as StrongWomen™) is a national evidence-based strength training program developed at Tufts University and is aimed at mid-life and older men and women. The benefits of strength training have been studied extensively and include increased muscle mass, strength and improved bone density, as well as additional physical and emotional benefits.
The StrongBodies™ program includes progressive strength training and balance and flexibility exercises. These exercises are safe and effective for all ages, including those who are not in perfect health. Dane County StrongBodies™ classes are led by Dane County Extension staff and trained local volunteer instructors. Some sessions may also include optional health, wellness and other educational programming after the exercise session concludes. In-person and online classes are available.
