Green Thumb Gardening Classes

University of Wisconsin-Madison Department of Extension specialists and local horticulture experts will provide in-depth and accessible information for everyone from the novice to the experienced gardener.
Seed-Starting Workshops

Houseplant Propagation Workshops

Learn about techniques for propagating houseplants during this in-person event and get hands-on experience in the Dane County Extension greenhouse.
Pruning Workshops

During the in-person lecture portion of the class, you will learn about proper pruning techniques for various types of trees and shrubs to increase the plants’ health, longevity and benefit to the environment. The outdoor portion of the class is held at the Dane County Extension Teaching Garden, allowing participants to practice pruning shrubs and trees.
Public Presentations for Community Groups & Libraries

The Landscaping and Grounds Maintenance Short Course is a four-week short course held each February designed to keep landscaping and grounds maintenance personnel up to date on the newest education practices and technology available to green industry professionals.
