Nonprofit Executive Directors, along with the Board of Directors, set the strategic direction for the organization, manage finances, and assure resources for achieving the organization’s mission. Managers also oversee staff, direct programs, develop budgets, raise funds, communicate with the public, collaborate with other organizations, and represent the organization in the broader community. Peer networks, consulting organizations, and strong Boards of Directors are helpful in addressing organization management challenges. Dane County Extension collaborates with other nonprofit serving organizations to understand the needs of the nonprofit sector, and to provide capacity building training and programs to support the sector.
