Join us for Dane County 4-H Camp! Youth who completed grades 3-8 are invited to attend Dane County 4-H Summer Camp. Invite your friends to join you. Not in 4-H? No problem, we welcome all youth!
Youth will experience fun camp activities, crafts, field games, campfire, swimming, nature walks, games and more. They will connect with the outdoors, try new activities, and make new friends.

Session 1:July 23-26, 2025 for youth who completed Grades 3-5
>Drop off 3:00pm on 7/23, Pick up 10:00am on 7/26
Session 2:July 26-29, 2025 for youth who completed Grades 6-8
>Drop off 2:30pm on 7/26, Pick up 10:00am on 7/29
Registration is closed for 2024. 2025 Camp Registration will open in April.
Camp fee includes all supplies, meals and snacks.
$240.00 – Dane County 4-H Member
$290.00 – General Camp Rate
Financial Assistance Available – request through online registration process
4-H Camp Registration – 2025 will open in April
- Registration open until early June or when camp fills
- Two payment options: Pay full amount OR pay half when registering and half in June.
- Payments made online with credit*, debit, or bank account. (*small fee for credit card payment)
- Send A Kid to Camp Donations can be made during online registration. We have youth who need financial assistance to attend camp. You can help!
Registered campers will receive a camp confirmation packet prior to camp that includes the camp schedule, what to bring and what not to bring, camp rules, and directions to camp. Camp confirmation packets will be sent out via email in June.
Parents are responsible for transportation to and from camp.
Upham Woods Learning Center
We are excited to camp at Upham Woods Outdoor Learning Center! It is a residential facility operated by the University of Wisconsin Extension and located on the magnificent Wisconsin River and amidst the bluffs of Upper Wisconsin Dells. Send A Kid To Camp Donations
Send A Kid to Camp Donations can be made by sending a donation to Dane County 4-H Camp, 5201 Fen Oak Drive, Suite 138, Madison, WI 53718 or calling 608-224-3702 for more information. We have youth who need financial assistance to attend camp. You can help!
4-H Camp Counselor Application Information
The 2025 Dane County 4-H Camp Counselor Applications are now open (links below) and we encourage you to apply! Youth in Grades 9-12 can apply to be summer camp counselors.
Counselor and Junior Director Applications Due Date: February 9, 2025
Dane County 4-H Camp Sessions* – Upham Woods, WI Dells dates:
- Camp 1 – July 23-26, 2025 (Campers in Grades 3-5)
- Camp 2 – July 26-29, 2025 (Campers in Grades 6-8)
*Counselors will attend one of the sessions.
New Counselor Requirements:
- Must have completed grade 9 in 2025
- No experience as a counselor at Dane County 4H Camp
- Attend required trainings listed in application

Returning Counselor/Junior Director Requirements:
- Prior experience as a counselor at Dane County 4-H Camp
- Junior Director applicants must have completed grade 12 in 2025
- Attend required trainings listed in application

To apply:
- Review the questions in the application and prepare answers before completing the application.
- Complete and submit the New Counselor Application or Returning Counselor/Junior Director Application by February 9, 2025
- Confirm references are submitted by February 9, 2025 via the Online Reference Link
- New Counselors = 2 completed references – Share this Online Reference Link
- Returning Counselors/Junior Director = 1 completed reference – Share this Online Reference Link
- Schedule interview by February 9, 2025
Selection for 2025 4H camp counselors will be based upon:
- Quality of application (review the questions on the application and formulate answers before completing application)
- Quality of interview
- Online References
*References should be from 4H leaders or other adults. Do not use family members, camp committee members, or Dane County Extension 4H staff.
**The camp committee maintains a high standard of selection criteria when choosing counselors. Please be mindful of this when completing your application and preparing for your job-like interview.
