Sustainability Safari
The youth leaders from the Dane County Youth Governance Program (YPG) have been working to plan and host an interactive event at the Henry Vilas Zoo in partnership with the Dane County Department of Waste & Renewables. Called Sustainability Safari. This event is all about taking action for a more sustainable future.
Come explore the zoo while engaging in fun, hands-on activities focused on food waste reduction, composting, recycling, and more. Youth will have the chance to raise awareness, inspire change, and empower their communities to make better choices for the planet!
Throughout the zoo, our amazing friends from different Dane County departments and youth leaders will be hosting interactive stations where you can learn about sustainable practices, and discover simple ways to reduce waste. Plus, hang out at the zoo and visit your favorite animals along the way!
