Learn new art techniques and build your skills at the Dane County 4-H Art Sparks Day!
Youth will participate in two 90 minute art activities between 9:00am-12:15pm.
This event is for youth in Grades 3-13 and adults. Sessions will be led by youth and adult 4-H leaders. Youth in grades 3-5 must be accompanied by an adult. Adults may also participate in the activity if registered; learn new skills to share with club members. Grades 6+ can attend without an adult.
$12 for the full morning/two activities, includes all supplies.
Activity Descriptions:
Metal Enameling – Youth will learn the ancient art of bonding finely powdered colored glass onto copper metal and ‘firing’ in a special kiln where at very high temperatures the glass melts, flows and fuses to the metal.
Block Printing – Learn a little about the history of printmaking. We’ll hand carve our own blocks out of foam and use block printing ink to make colorful frame-worthy prints of our designs.
Acrylic Pop Art Pet Portraits – Draw & Paint a vibrant Pop Art piece of your pet’s portrait. Bring a close-up photo of your own pet or pick one from ideas provided.
Mexican Talavera Plates – Learn the art of talavera style painting. Draw and paint a plate in Mexican talavera style.
