If your youth is interested in performing or is interested in getting more comfortable speaking in front of people, we have a fantastic opportunity! We have collaborated with the WI 4-H team and developed 4-H Takes the Stage!
Youth will attend one Zoom session and one in-person session, work with professional artists, build performance skills, gain confidence on stage, and practice stage skills.
REGISTER HERE – limited to 24 youth
This program is free and for all ages (K-Gr 13). Youth must participate in both parts of this program:
- Zoom meeting on Sunday 2/8/26 from 7-8pm to meet the artists and talk about what the youth are interested in performing on stage (acting, singing, dancing, instrumental, reading poems, unicycling, juggling, etc..) Register for Zoom separately to receive personal link.
- In-person workshop with professional artists on Saturday 2/28 from 10am-Noon at the Oakwood Village West Theater in Madison. Youth will participate in skill building activities, work on a performance, and spend time on stage!
ALSO…Mark your calendars! The 2026 Dane County 4-H Performers Festival is scheduled for Sunday, April 26, 2026 at the Oakwood Village West Theater starting at 2pm. A separate registration form for this event will be available in March. This will be a great way for youth to show what they have learned and practiced in 4-H Takes the Stage!
- Youth Volunteers Needed: We are looking for a few youth (Gr 7+) interested in helping organize the Performers Festival. Planning meetings will be by Zoom at 7pm on Thursdays 2/19, 3/12 and 4/23. If interested, reply to this email and we will share more information.
