Are you interested in teaching your dog some new tricks? or working on dog showmanship? Or just looking to have fun learning about dogs? Join us for the Dane County 4-H Dog Project Kickoff Day (without your canine companion)!

*This event is mandatory for all youth who intend to participate in the 4-H Dog Project in 2025.

Kickoff has two primary goals: providing canine behavior education and reviewing changes to the guidelines. The safety of our members, their dogs, and our volunteer trainers depends on the behavior education programming. For these reasons, we cannot make exceptions to this requirement and ask that you respect the time of our volunteer committee.

In person attendance is strongly encouraged. If a youth will be out of town, they may attend virtually at the same time – 1/18 from 9am-Noon. Youth attending virtually must be present for the entire time and actively participate in all activities to receive credit for the Kickoff. A link will be sent to participants who register to attend virtually.

If a member is unable to attend on 1/18, they will need to contact the 4-H office (4Hinfo@danecounty.gov) to schedule a time to watch the presentations there.

REGISTER HERE! All youth should be accompanied by an adult for this meeting.

You will get all of the information you will need to complete the project for this year. Dane County 4-H offers obedience, rally, showmanship, agility, and quiz bowl.

No dog, no problem! You don’t need to own a dog to participate in the 4-H Dog Project Kickoff or quiz bowl!

This will be a interactive meeting where you will get all the information you will need for this year in order to participate in the dog project. This meeting is mandatory so we can set our youth handlers and their dogs up for success.

This will be an fun and interactive meeting where you will learn about:
