Are you interested in learning how to crochet or want to get new ideas for projects? Join us for one or more of the county-wide crochet project area meetings.

For this crochet meeting we will be making Hot Pads. Please plan on attending if you are comfortable chain stitching and single crocheting with no help. Please bring 100% cotton yarn (1 skein, 2-2.5oz), size G-6 hook, and any completed projects from the last meeting. We will have some yarn available and some hooks for purchase (and to borrow). Youth will also learn some edging stitches to create a fancier looking hot pad.

Dates: Sundays, March 17, April 14, May 5, June 2

Cost: $2-3, bring cash to the meeting

Beginners are always welcome! Here is what we did at the first meeting (and will be available for all meetings): We will have crochet hooks (H-8 (5mm)) size to borrow, but if you would like to complete another similar project or need to finish what you start at the meeting, consider bringing your own supplies. We will also have yarn available but will be limited in color and quantity; suggested donation to cover yarn costs is $2-3 depending on skein size. Here are the recommended hook sizes and yarn weights for each project: Bracelet- H-8 (5mm) and medium acrylic yarn; headband/bracelet- I-9 (5.5mm) and worsted weight yarn; washcloth- H-8 (5mm) kitchen cotton yarn.

If you are an experienced with crochet, you may help as a volunteer or you may also bring your own project to work on instead of the suggested projects, which will be geared towards beginners.
