This is a purrrrrfect opportunity to learn about Cats! Our youth leaders have organized some fun, interactive activities for you. No need to bring your furry friend.

Tell us about your cat at this meeting! Come observe a mock showpersonship (aka showmanship) event with live cats. You will get to practice a speech to share with youth judges (questions to be shared prior to the meeting). It will be a purr-fect time for gaining confidence sharing about your cat prior to the fair!

We are also looking for youth who would like to bring their cat and participate in the experience with their furry friend. Only 5 spots are left! SIGN UP HERE TO BRING A CAT First come, first served- add your name to this list (or message Tara). If you are not bringing a cat, you do not need to pre-register.

Note: Below are the requirements that must be met for those attending the meeting with a cat.

  • Cat must have current vaccinations: rabies (annual or 3-year), rhinotracheitis virus, calici virus and panleukopenia virus (FVRCP vaccine – annual or 3-year) (per Dane County Fair requirements- refer to page 44 of the 2025 DCF Premium book)
  • Proof of vaccinations must be brought (digital is fine)
  • Cat must be brought in a carrier
  • Bring a comfortable place for the cat to hide (strongly recommended)

All other participants should attend without an animal. You can bring a stuffed animal if you wish.

This meeting is open to all 4-H members interested in learning more about cats.

This is an in-person meeting for youth in grades K-13. An adult is required to attend with youth in grades K-5.

No fee or need to pre-register for this meeting.
