Join us for a fun day of learning new skills and trying different art disciplines. Build your 4-H Art Sparks experience with a variety of long and/or short sessions.                         

Session 1 – 9:00-10:45am – choose one 105 minute session OR two 45 minute sessions                  

Session 2 – 11:00am-12:45pm – choose one 105 minute session OR two 45 minute sessions                             

This event is for youth in Grades 3-13 and adults. Sessions will be led by youth and adult 4-H leaders. Youth in grades 3-5 must be accompanied by an adult. Adults may also participate in the activity if registered; learn new skills to share with club members. Grades 6+ can attend without an adult.                           

Each session is $6. Full morning is $12 (2 sessions x $6).                

LONG SESSIONS (youth will choose 1/session):                

Leatherwork (105 min) –  Create a cat catchall bowl to hold trinkets and make your backpack special with a unique tag or key fob. Personalize by using tools to stamp, paint and/or burn your own design.     

Metal Enameling (105 min) – Youth will learn the ancient art of bonding finely powered colored glass onto copper metal and ‘firing’ in a special kiln where at very high temperatures the glass melts, flows and fuses to the metal.                    

SHORT SESSIONS (youth will choose 2/session):                             

Woodburning (45 min) – Learn the skill of woodburning on different pieces of wood and create an art piece for your home.                       

Fluid Acrylic Painting (45 min) – Create a beautiful piece of spontaneous, flowing abstract art by pouring thinned acrylic paint on canvas.                        

Working with Resin (45 min) – Use epoxy resin to create an awesome piece of art.                          

Jewelry Making (45 min) – Make a pendant by twisting wire and beads to make a bird’s nest neclace. You will learn how to add jump rings to add the pendant to a necklace chain.
