The Dane County Office of Energy & Climate Change leads the effort in Dane County to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, promote renewable energy, and accelerate energy efficiency measures. The DCOECC, a division within the County Executive’s Office, uses its Climate Action Plan to lead public and private efforts across the community to implement strategies that address climate change.
Dane County Extension can assist local municipalities and organizations to accelerate actions to address climate change. Our Educators provide support on community engagement and facilitation for committees or Task Forces working to advance the efforts of municipalities in climate change mitigation and resilience.
Energy on Wisconsin is a collaboration between UW-Madison Extension and the WI Office of Energy Innovation. They support communities, tribes, businesses, and organizations to advance Wisconsin’s transformation to a clean energy economy.
The University of Wisconsin-Madison Extension’s Community Economic Development program has prepared a Community Climate Resilience Menu. The menu is an integrated tool to assist communities to become more resilient to the impacts and shocks from major weather changes that disrupt communities.
The Wisconsin Climate Table has created a resouce for communities called the Climate Action Planning Tool Kit. This toolkit provides resources for centering equity in climate plans and policies, and includes a strategy guide, examples of climate action plans, and links to resources.
