The University of Wisconsin–Madison Division of Extension has honored Lisa Curley, Dane County 4-H Educator, with the 2025 Excellence in Extension Education and Outreach Award for staff with 5–15 years of service. The award recognizes outstanding teaching, outreach, collaboration, and public service across Wisconsin.
Lisa has served as a 4-H Educator since 2018, bringing lifelong experience as a member, parent, and volunteer. She provides steady leadership for the Dane County 4-H community club program and builds strong relationships with volunteers and partners.
She coordinates a wide range of science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM) opportunities each year—including rocket building, Lego building, science nights, and animal science programs—in collaboration with UW Biotech, UW Space Place, Dane County Parks, and the UW Veterinary Diagnostic Lab. She also partners with County Supervisors to offer youth workshops on civic engagement and nature photography.
Lisa ensures youth are meaningfully involved in committee work and decision-making and is deeply committed to creating inclusive, accessible experiences for every participant. Her optimism, engaging teaching style, and strong leadership have had lasting impacts across the 4-H program. This award is well deserved.
