We’re excited to welcome Amelia Steen-Martin as our new Nutrition Educator. Amelia brings a strong background in sustainable food systems, with a bachelor’s degree from UW–Stevens Point and a master’s in Sustainable & Resilient Food Systems to be completed in 2025.

Before joining Extension, Amelia served seven years as an Air Force medic and has been deeply involved in community food work as the vice chair of the Janesville Farmers Market. There, she launched Fresh and Glean, a program that donates local produce and teaches families how to cook with it—while also becoming known for her impressive ability to take a great carrot photo.
Amelia is passionate about local food systems, seasonal eating, and making nutrition education fun and accessible. Outside of work, she’s a dog mom to two Aussies, an avid fantasy reader, a forager (puffball mushrooms are her favorite), an adventurous traveler, and someone who will try absolutely any new food at least once.
Please join us in welcoming Amelia to the team!
