We are pleased to introduce Shana Leith, who serves as the Health and Well-Being Nutrition Administrator for Dane and Rock Counties. Shana has been a dedicated leader in community nutrition since 1998, when she began her career with the UW–Madison Division of Extension as a Nutrition Educator in Rock County.
Over the course of nearly two decades, Shana has worked closely with individuals and families to promote healthy eating habits, increase food access, and empower communities to make lasting wellness changes. Her deep commitment to education and equity in health has been a guiding force throughout her career.
In 2017, Shana transitioned into her current leadership role as Health and Well-Being Nutrition Administrator, where she now provides oversight and guidance for programs across both Dane and Rock Counties. She is known for her collaborative spirit, strong mentorship, and ability to build meaningful partnerships that strengthen community impact.
Outside of work, Shana enjoys spending time outdoors, taking on DIY projects, and gardening. She also finds joy in fostering kittens through the Humane Society of Southern Wisconsin, reflecting her caring and community-minded nature both personally and professionally.
We are grateful for Shana’s leadership and continued contributions to advancing the Health and Well-Being Institute’s value of providing opportunities for everyone to achieve optimal health.
