Even if your farm is not large enough to be regulated by FSMA (the Food Safety Modernization Act), implementing handling practices that avoid unwanted contamination can lead to more market opportunities and satisfied customers. Join Farm Manager Seth Riley and some of the Farley Center’s 12 resident farmers on a tour of their fields and packing area, while food safety specialists Erin Silva and Harriet Behar discuss practical on-farm food safety methods illustrated by real-world examples. A basic food safety plan template and a few record keeping forms will be shared, helping farmers build systems within the FSMA framework. Please click to register for free by Sunday, July 22nd. We need a minimum of 10 registrants to make this field day a go.
